Due to its fame and influence, many writers recognized by Jacques Doucet from their youth, or their heirs, have chosen to entrust part or all of their literary memory to the library, constituting the special collections, acquired by donation or purchase, such as Suarès, Breton, Desnos, Reverdy, Tzara, Gide, Valéry, Mallarmé, Leiris, etc. Since then, generations of writers and poets, anxious to join this literary companionship, have continued to enrich the library’s collections. Added to these collections are a number of sets, qualified in regard to their quantity or variety of documents. Today the special collections number 94.
